Business Days & Lead-Time Calculator
Add working days to a date or count business days between two dates, with optional weekend and U.S. federal holiday exclusions. Dates are handled as local calendar dates to avoid timezone shifts.
How to Add Business Days to a Date
Enter a start date and a whole-number lead time, then choose whether weekends and U.S. federal holidays should be excluded. In Add Business Days mode, counting begins after the start date; adding zero business days returns the start date.
Count Working Days Between Dates
Range mode counts eligible workdays from the day after the start date through the end date by default. Enable “Include start date” when the first date should count. Reversed date ranges are rejected rather than silently returning a negative result.
Weekend and Federal Holiday Rules
Saturday and Sunday are excluded by default. The optional holiday setting calculates the eleven current U.S. federal holidays and their observed dates: Saturday holidays are observed Friday and Sunday holidays Monday. Business calendars differ, so confirm supplier, carrier, state, and company-specific closures separately.
Shipping and Lead-Time Uses
Working-day calculations help estimate vendor lead times, purchase orders, manufacturing schedules, delivery dates, customer response deadlines, project due dates, and service-level commitments. Calendar days are also shown so the difference between elapsed time and counted business days remains clear.
